Panel: MSPs in the Crosshairs
It’s no secret that cybercriminals have been targeting MSPs as the conduit to the much bigger bounty of the downstream customers they serve. In this panel discussion, our experts will examine the vulnerabilities that cybercriminals look for and walk through the security hygiene best practices that MSPs should be following to lock down their own systems and prevent compromise.
Anatomy of an Attack: A Live Hacker Demo
Discover the realm of cybersecurity from an offensive angle in a live demonstration. Our expert reveals real-world hacking methods employed by cybercriminals, shedding light on current business threats. See vulnerabilities exploited and learn to defend against such attacks. Gain insights into cybersecurity best practices, threat mitigation, and the importance of ethical hacking in protecting your clients' digital assets.

Breakout: How to Sell Cybersecurity
It’s important to build the best cybersecurity solution, but it’s mandatory to have a foolproof methodology to sell your services. Many small businesses are unaware of cyber risks or simply think they could bounce back from an attack. Of course, you know better. The trick is to communicate the realities of today’s threat landscape, better protect your clients and prospects, and close more sales. Author Jennifer Bleam will help you achieve these things as she presents several key concepts from her best-selling book “Simplified Cybersecurity Sales For MSPs.”
Breakout: Really, What's the Risk?
Ever wonder why despite your best efforts, selling cybersecurity to clients and prospects falls short of your expectations? Perspective matters when addressing cybersecurity, both from the viewpoint of the MSP and that of the client or prospective client. This session will give you a glimpse into the world of risk and help you start reframing your perspective when it comes to risk. Joseph and Wayne will each provide different aspects of looking for risk from your people, process and technology.
Breakout: Watch Your Saas
SaaS powers modern businesses, driving digital transformation across various functions. Yet, it introduces cybersecurity and compliance risks. Matt Soseman, CTO & Chief Cyber Architect, offers strategies for MSPs to safeguard clients’ SaaS apps. He delves into
access security, activity monitoring, and data protection technologies. Additionally, Matt explores how enhancing SaaS security can boost Monthly Recurring Revenue for MSPs. This session provides
valuable insights for strengthening SaaS security and growing business revenue.
Breakout: National Cybersecurity Strategy Update
Over the past several years, the priority to secure the nation's Small Businesses has been discussed at the highest levels of government. Though, no widely effective solutions have been identified, the awareness of the urgency remained. NIST, DHS (via CISA), and MITRE are all aggressively working on SMB-focused initiatives. In 2021, the opportunity for these initiatives to coalesce became a reality, under the CISA Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC). CISA JCDC is a “whole nation approach” that’s bringing together the ecosystem that MSPs rely on every day with U.S. Government (USG) and other private industry stakeholders to systemically address areas of vulnerability - especially focused on the Remote Management and Monitoring (RMM) toolset.
Breakout: How to Conduct a Cyber Incident Exercise
While your clients may think they have a good incident response plan, it may not consider the impact of lawyers, insurance companies, regulators, and law enforcement officials. Realistic exercises are the best way to help them prepare for crisis situations. Like fire drills in elementary school, it's an opportunity to learn best practices, find weaknesses in the plan, and refine the process. Join us to learn tips and gain templates you can use as you add live exercises to your service offering.
Sponsor Panel: Achieving Security Excellence in 2024

TimeZest Breakout: Build a Unique Customer Experience to Differentiate
In today's saturated IT landscape, MSPs are faced with the challenge of standing out amidst a sea of competitors. But what if the key to differentiation wasn't just in the products offered, but in the experiences crafted? If you want to compete without tearing down fellow MSPs, it’s vital to provide a better, more innovative experience for clients.
Kaseya IT Complete Breakout: Are You Taking Advantage of Marketing Development Funds?
In this session, Brian Doty will highlight ways for you to leverage the Kaseya Partner Program to help you grow your business. A healthy start is utilizing Kaseya's MDF program where you and Kaseya work together to put on an event that showcases Kaseya's IT solutions to your clients and prospects. This session can be the reason you will see an uptick in your business portfolio in 2024.
Solutions Granted Breakout: Leadership Does Not Require Suffering – IT IS A PRIVILEGE!
Michael Crean, a US Army combat veteran and 21-year CEO, shares profound insights on leadership. He asserts that leadership is a cherished privilege, not just a duty. His experiences in the military and the corporate world underscore how leadership can profoundly impact destinies. Leading, whether soldiers or executives, is an honorable responsibility, built on trust and faith. A leader's competence and judgment significantly affect their team's success, bestowing the privilege of making a positive impact. True leadership means guiding, inspiring, and empowering rather than giving orders or seeking personal glory. It is about nurturing unity, resilience, and driving a team towards shared goals, witnessing individuals transform into a cohesive force, surmounting challenges and achieving common objectives.
Trick-or-Tech Cocktail Reception Hosted in Exhibit Hall
November 2nd
Morning Networking Session with Breakfast
Start the day right by connecting with other attendees, speakers and vendors. Is the MSP at the next table someone you can partner locally with? Are they a firm you might want to acquire? Do the roaming session speakers have best practices to offer you that perfectly fit your-sized company? Will the vendor dining at your table alert you to show-only specials?
- Make this breakfast about more than just bacon (although bacon is a good place to start). By the time the first session starts onstage, you might have made enough connections to transform your business!
Panel: Rapid Response and Remediation
Your client’s been hit with ransomware or some other malicious attack. Every minute of downtime costs them money and potentially damages their business’s reputation, not to mention the potential loss of their intellectual property. Our MSP guests will share how they spun up rapid response and remediation services, and walk through the steps of preparation, detection and analysis, containment, eradication and recovery, and post-incident activities.
Breakout: Passwordless
A passwordless future will make life easier and more secure because it eliminates the weakest link—users who take shortcuts. Biometrics and other technologies such as FIDO (Fast Identity Online), which uses public key cryptography for authentication, are on the verge of putting passwords and their many flaws to rest. This session will offer a deep dive into the emerging and future passwordless technologies MSPs need to know about.
Breakout: The Legal Side of Security
The odds are high that you and/or your customers will experience a cyberattack. What’s your cyber liability? What policies and practices should you have in place now to protect your business from being sued? Should you be advising your clients on their cyber insurance applications? Are there advantages to joining an Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO)? Our legal expert will answer these questions and more.
Panel: Cloud Security: Challenges & Best Practices
In this point-counterpoint discussion, two experts take opposing stances on the security pros and cons of cloud-based versus on-premises environments. On the one hand, repatriating workloads and data storage give organizations more control while reducing the attack surface. On the other hand, the top cloud providers offer advanced security features such as encryption, secure authentication protocols and access control mechanisms, high-end physical device and infrastructure security, and more. Is there a right answer? You be the judge.

Keynote Speaker: A Threat Brief for MSPs and the Nation
Can’t-miss Special Keynote: Featuring Mario Garcia, Supervisory Cybersecurity Advisor for Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Mr. Garcia will discuss the role of CISA, current threats to MSPs and the IT industry at large, best practices to minimize the impact of Ransomware, and Security by Design/Default. A Q&A period to follow the presentation.
