Supervisory Cybersecurity Advisor (CISA Region 9)

Mario Garcia is a Supervisory Cybersecurity Advisor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Mario is part of CISA’s Region 9 and is responsible for leading CISA’s cybersecurity resources in Northern California, Hawaii, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Prior to joining CISA, Mario was the Deputy Commander and Acting Commander of the California Cybersecurity Integration Center, California’s central hub for cybersecurity strategy, information-sharing, and incident response.

Mario recently retired from the California Army National Guard after 38 years of military service. Mario served as a Chief Warrant Officer Four (CW4) Senior Information Systems Technician and deployed to Iraq in 2005 through 2006. Mario has a Master of Science degree in Computer Information Systems and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
