Tarvinder Sembhi is a veteran executive in the biometrics and identity industry. His extensive experience includes deploying large scale identity systems for both government and commercial applications. He played critical roles in developing solution architecture and partner management in projects such as UNHCR’s Pakistan/Afghanistan refugee management system, the World Food Programme in India, and a biometric-enabled payment program/payment system in the Middle East.
Tarvinder serves as Senior Director, Digital Identity North America for Idemia. Previously, his experience has been with Verizon where he provided identity strategy for Verizon’s Consumer Group. Also, as an independent consultant, he provided identity solution and architecture support to governments and technology companies. His projects included the award winning biometric enabled smart card project that enabled entitlement distribution for a Middle East country. He also led WCC’s Identity and North American market for growing their multi-modal identity search and match engine. He held a leadership role at 4GID solutions, a company that participated in India’s Unique ID program. At Iridian Technologies, the inventor of iris recognition technology, he led the product teams and managed strategic partner relationships. Iridian’s innovative products received Frost & Sullivan’s Technology Leadership Award. He has also held leadership roles with General Electric Company, Ford Motor Company, and Sarnoff Corporation.
Tarvinder Sembhi has a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Lehigh University. He also graduated from General Electric’s prestigious Management Program.
