Joy Belinda Beland

Joy Beland joined Edwards Performance Solutions in 2020 as the CMMC training program manager. In addition to actively participating in multiple concurrent NIST 800-171 cybersecurity assessments, Joy oversees the curriculum development and live instructor training for the CMMC-AB Approved certification courses, as well as customized security awareness training for worldwide enterprise clients.

Prior to joining Edwards, Joy served as founder and CEO of her own managed services provider practice in the greater Los Angeles area for 21 years, serving hundreds of small and medium businesses as their trusted technology and cybersecurity adviser. In this role, Joy consulted to organizations on their technology and cybersecurity needs; her team conducted NIST 800-53, PCI, and HIPAA assessments; implemented security and IT controls and systems; and educated client businesses on cybersecurity best practices.

After successfully selling her security-focused MSP practice in 2018, Joy accepted the role of senior cybersecurity education director at ConnectWise (a Master MSP security vendor) through mid-2020. In that role, Joy gained worldwide attention for her thought leadership in the human element of cybersecurity while successfully training over 3,000 MSPs on the fundamentals of cybersecurity (including NIST 800-53, CIS, NIST CSF, and incident response best practices).

In addition to being a CMMC registered practitioner, provisional assessor, and provisional instructor, Joy holds the CISM certification from ISACA, the SSAP certification from SANS, certificates from Carnegie Mellon SEI for insider threat program manager as well as insider threat vulnerability assessor, and is currently studying for the CISA certification from ISACA. Her personal mission is to protect organizations from cybercrime, whether caused by external or internal threat actors.
