Schyler Jones is the owner of MiradorIT LLC, an MSP in Concord, N.H. Schyler started with tech in 1979 when his high school acquired Apple II computers. After graduating in 1983, he joined the U.S. Navy for six years where he learned how electrons and bits enable computers to function. At one point he was charged with setting up and maintaining a microcomputer running PTDOS and a database application called Vulcan. He used it to develop a parts management system and an early ticketing system to track equipment troubleshooting and repair. He later moved onto MS-DOS, dBase, and Clipper. Hired by the Navy’s Military Sealift Command Far East branch as a civilian in 1989, Schyler developed and maintained dBase/Clipper applications, and installed the unit’s first LAN in 1991. From 1994 to 2001, Schyler worked as a network administrator for large companies and as a technician for a small service provider before striking out on his own in 2001. He started MSP work in 2008 and founded MiradorIT in 2015.
