Paul Smith, a partner at Datasmith Network Solutions, grew up in his family’s business, which started as a computer supplies shop 27 years ago and has evolved into a cloud/business solution provider. Paul inherited the company in 2000.
Seeing the growing needs of big data producers and the potential of cloud computing, Paul led the company’s evolution into managed services, virtualization, and solutions that include data security, storage, wireless communication, transactional processes, and personal information protection. Versed in space-saving system integration and HIPAA compliance, Datasmith has become a specialist in dental and medical office networking.
Active in the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce and past director of the Boston Area Chapter of BNI (Business Network Institute), Paul is an enthusiastic speaker who advocates for customer service and business integrity, along with the latest technology. “I’d rather be a teacher than a pitchman,” he says. Paul is currently president of his chapter for Venture Tech Network, an exclusive Ingram Micro community of 350 technology providers who collaborate to share ideas and resources with the goal of delivering the best value to their clients.
Paul holds a BA from University of Massachusetts Lowell, a Microsoft certification, and is an authorized VMWare Sales Professional. When not in the office, Paul relaxes as a spin instructor at a local gym and participates in charity rides like the Pan Mass Challenge.
