Daniel J. Haurey

Founder and President

As the chief visionary behind Exigent Technologies’ long-standing success in the IT industry, Daniel J. Haurey stands out as one of New Jersey’s leading entrepreneurs and accomplished business leaders. His passion for success and fun-loving nature inspire Exigent’s high-energy company culture and white-glove customer service. Dan founded Exigent in 1997 with a mission to meet the IT needs of small to midsize businesses (SMBs) across the New York/New Jersey region. Over the years, Exigent’s customer promise has become so strong that the company’s phone number is now 855 NO DOWNTIME.

With Dan at the helm, Exigent has earned many accolades including the Inc. 5000 recognition and the 2013 MSPmentor 501 Global Edition, a distinguished list that identifies the world’s top managed service providers. The team has also earned the business of high-profile customers such as Carlo’s Bakery and simplified IT for hundreds of New York and New Jersey’s fastest-growing companies.

A hard-core tech geek who really loves to work, Dan landed his first job at age of 12. Fast-forward a few decades and this self-made, school-of-hard-knocks businessman has worked his way to the top of his field, speaking at industry events and lending his business and technical insights to fellow techs and entrepreneurs. A believer in the power of partnership, Dan serves as the current vice president and president-elect of the VentureTech Network (VTN) Big Apple Chapter, a high-performance partner community run by distributor Ingram Micro.

Always looking to pay it forward, Dan supports a number of local charities and nonprofit organizations including the Essex County Vocational Technical School in Newark, N.J., where he has established dual scholarships. Dan also serves as a volunteer member of the Washington Township Schools Technology Committee and has made it a priority within Exigent to give back to the community.
